What is the Rhode Island Change of Address Notice?

If you moved to or within Rhode Island, the law requires you to notify the Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to update your driving records and your vehicle registration using the Rhode Island Change of Address Notice.

The DMV keeps only one physical and one mailing address per customer. Thus, all state DMVs require residents to update their records when they move to, from, or within a state to maintain the accuracy of their records. The state of Rhode Island requires you to process your change of address within 10 days.

If you moved within Rhode Island

If you moved only within Rhode Island, you can use the Rhode Island Change of Address Notice to notify the Rhode Island DMV about changing your address.
